How to Switch?

The switching process is very simple.

  1. Decide to switch and save with our low rates
  2. Take 10 minutes to submit your request* (There is no cost to switch)
  3. In 4 to 7 days your request is fulfilled and you are saving money!

It really is that simple.

You don’t even have to call or notify your current provider.

Your current provider is notified electronically and will send you a final bill once the switch has been completed.

Here is the simple information you’ll need to submit the order:

  • Name you would like for the account
  • Service and Billing address
  • Phone number
  • Date of Birth and SSN
  • Chosen plan/rate

That’s it!

The whole process takes about 10 minutes.  Just 10 minutes and you could be saving $50 - $100 or more every month.

*Once your switch request is submitted, electronic notices are sent to ONCOR, ERCOT, and finally your current provider.  In 4 to 7 days ONCOR will send a meter reader to your home to read the meter. From that point on, you will be with your new provider, and at a much lower rate.

ONCOR is the regulated local wires company for this area. They repair lines, and read meters for all customers, regardless of retail provider.

ERCOT -Electric Reliability Council of Texas acts as the ‘overseer’ of all transactions taking place on the electricity grid. They help the consumer by assisting to confirm all requests are authorized.

Your current provider receives an electronic notice that you have ended the account. Your provider will then send you a final bill. (There is no need for you to contact your provider when requesting a switch).
